Official holiday house tours and daytime tickets · Select a date and entry time for The Breakers. Sparkling Lights requires a separate ticket on a selected evening.

Choose the right admission

For a daytime tour, The Breakers and Marble House open daily during the holiday season; Chateau-sur-Mer opens Saturdays and Sundays. Daytime admission uses the Society's regular tickets, Access Pass or membership. A Breakers ticket requires a specific date and entry time; the other two houses do not.

Sparkling Lights is a different visit to The Breakers on selected evenings from November 21 to December 27. Its timed ticket includes the decorated interior during the same visit. Regular Breakers tickets are not accepted after 3 p.m. on Sparkling Lights dates. Check the official date calendar and choose the ticket that matches your arrival.

Plan the visit and overnight

The Breakers is at 44 Ochre Point Avenue; Marble House is at 596 Bellevue Avenue and Chateau-sur-Mer at 474 Bellevue Avenue. Check the operating schedule for the exact houses and hours on your date before arranging transport between them.

If you are staying overnight, choose between downtown Newport for harbor and dining access or a base nearer the mansions. Compare the stay options only after fixing the house visit and any evening ticket.

The announced free Route 67 trolley period ends October 31, before the holiday season starts. Check the winter route, last return and any taxi arrangements for your ticket time. Cliff Walk is open from sunrise to sunset; plan a road return after Sparkling Lights.

Good to know

  • Sparkling Lights runs on selected evenings, with timed admissions every half hour from 4 to 6 p.m.; the house and grounds close at 8 p.m. Its ticket is separate from regular daytime admission.
  • For Sparkling Lights, use the main Ochre Point Avenue gate at your ticket time or within 30 minutes afterward. Earlier or later entry may not be accommodated; there is no re-entry on the same ticket.
  • The houses close on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and close at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
  • Confirm hours and timed tickets on the Society's site before booking a room around them.
